Hey everyone!
I'm excited to release the new PSION class for open testing. It is an early build but far enough along to get a good feel of the mechanics. Classes have a lot of moving parts so I'd like to get as many eyes on it as possible—so this first version of the Alpha is free for all!
What is the Psion?
A Psion is a master of telekinetic powers who uses their MINDS to do rad stuff. They are decidedly NOT magical; rather, they can control other minds and physical objects through sheer force of will. Think Professor X & Jean Grey, Darth Vader's force powers, or Eleven from Stranger Things.
This class has some unique mechanics: the main one being that they can generate a Psionic field around them to perform special feats like having a swirling cloud of daggers to attack foes, have an array of floating shields to protect themselves, or even launch allies at their foes!
They also feature strong push-your-luck mechanics with Strain: extra mental effort a Psion takes on to increase the power level of their special abilities. At the end of your turn you roll 1d6 for each Strain you have—as long as you don't roll any 1s, you can HOLD just a bit longer. But if you roll any 1s bad stuff happens!
